2025
The Year Our
Dreams come ALIVE
Goodbye 2024…
Despite this year’s wonders and honors, I’m very ready to end this year. I have to admit, I’ve been a bit distracted with the “horrors” that occurred this year (life changing hurricanes being one of them, along with major personal situations) and I’m just so ready to move on. I’m done wasting time on the past.
We’ve all felt that, I’m sure, in some type of way throughout our life. There’s that longing, that pull, to move on and step into the new. We all desire to let go of the past and reach for our future, while being present in the moment. But it’s usually harder said than done simply because we’re…
Dead inside.
Somewhere, somehow, in those deep crevasses of our souls there’s a void. It feels cold, lonely, and painful. Like what we want is something we can never get. Or maybe in a specific area inside we are convinced that God doesn’t want to help or hear us in our dilemma. Oh how it nags, pulls, and drags us into a hopeless downward spiral full of questions of “When?” “How?” or “Why?”
When will things ever change? When will I feel happy again?
How will my breakthrough come? How will I know it’s You, God?
Why am I here, Lord? Why did this happen?
Dead hopes of a way out… Dead dreams of a light to follow … conforming us to a lifestyle of wondering if we’ll get to where we want to go. It’s painful, it hurts deep, and it blocks our intimacy with the Holy Spirit. That “special connection” with the Lord feeling interfered by the aches and cold places inside…
Receiving the gift of salvation doesn’t mean that we suddenly don’t face “rock-bottom” situations. No, salvation means we serve a redeeming God, who promises to stand by our side through every high and low … until we come home.
Jesus Promises that He will…
“Console those who mourn in Zion,
To give them beauty for ashes,
The oil of joy for mourning,
The garment of praise for the spirit of heaviness;
That they may be called trees of righteousness,
The planting of the Lord, that He may be glorified.”
Isaiah 61:3 NKJV
You and I are not alone in these moments that we face. There is a hope that we can look to and that hope is found in Christ. If you’ve been having one the toughest years (even with it’s joys) it’s okay to feel broken about it.
But God has called us, as His children, to something better than our sorrows. And that truly is the the joy of Tomorrow! When life is tearing you and I apart, He is pulling us into His Fatherly embrace. When situations are stealing the oxygen in your lungs, God—the Creator—is breathing the breath of life into you. When you can’t lift a finger because of the weakness overcoming you, then the Holy Spirit is strengthening your spirit to rise again.
These are the promises of God that are ours to hold, speak, believe, and live out. Our past (even yesterday) does not define us. Only Jesus Christ, His finished work on the Cross, the Promises of God, the Word of God… these are what defines you and me.
Come Alive!
Dear sons and daughters of God rise into 2025. Let the dreams in your heart come alive, as God leads you into your destiny. For by the grace of Jesus Christ, through the cross, you are not dead.
You are Alive.
Also He [the Lord] said to me, “Prophesy to the breath, prophesy, son of man, and say to the breath, ‘Thus says the Lord God: “Come from the four winds, O breath, and breathe on these slain, that they may live.” ”So I prophesied as He commanded me, and breath came into them, and they lived, and stood upon their feet, an exceedingly great army.
Ezekiel 37:9-10 NKJV
