I’m reaching for you
as I climb the stage.
All I crave for is the truth,
not the lies in this cage.
No one knows what we’ve been through,
but we keep turning the page.
Oh, all of the change
is so new, it’s strange.
Feels like the script is rearranged,
but somehow we’ve sustained.
Jesus, I’m reaching for you.
The higher we go, the more I need.
Only your heart speaks what’s true,
without you I’m broken and bleed.
I remember all the times it was just you,
Your sweet melody my inspiration seed.
Oh, hold onto me.
Just one touch of my heart will make it free.
Show my eyes what to see,
deliver my mind from the insecurity.
Jesus, I’m reaching for you.
Because I know just one touch will make me whole and new.
Pressing through the crowd I clutch-
onto you, the one I only knew.
And it’s like, the beginning again—such,
Love and care by the one who-
gave His all for me. To receive much
of the sound of every
Heavenly Symphony,
as You shine in glory,
of our written story.
Foundation Scripture:
“When she heard about Jesus, she came behind Him in the crowd and touched His garment” (Mark 5:27).
Personal Thoughts:
I’ve been reading the Book of Mark and soaking in the beauty of the Gospel of Christ. When I came across Mark chapter 5:25-34 (the woman with the issue of blood), I internally cried.
There’s a beauty behind reaching for God, despite the chaos around us. It kindles our relationship with Jesus and reminds us again who He is and who we are in Him.
P.S. I also have a Personal Blog where I posted my Bible Study notes/thoughts that I had while writing this poem! Feel free to check it out: Merissa Nicole Blog
Thank you for reading!

Hi Merissa, I love your heart and this word. I am reaching for Jesus. I love how the use of Mark 5:27 made me feel at the end, which is so comforting and a breath of hope. Truly sublime. Praise the Lord.
