You Are
A poem
Oh, Lord Jesus, here I am on the floor. Face down, I want more. Oh, Lord Jesus, I pour out my heart. I cry with a shout You are Holy, You are Worthy. Oh, Lord Jesus, I lay down my pride. Here at Your feet, I give You my crown. I am not my own. I came to meet The King— So let there be a pleasing song on my lips to sing. You are Holy, You are Worthy. Oh, Lord Jesus, who am I? To focus on my desire when You are all I yearn for. So here it is every wish, every dream. The burning desires I can't confine. They are not mine to find. When I have You, I am Complete and of sound mind. Oh, Lord Jesus, here I am for You. Let me be pleasing. Let me be pure. I want to see You smile and hear You laugh happily, as I sing.. You are Holy. You are Worthy. You are all I desire.
Foundation Scripture:
“Trust in the Lord, and do good; Dwell in the land, and feed on His faithfulness. Delight yourself also in the Lord, and He shall give you the desires of your heart. Commit your way to the Lord, Trust also in Him, and He shall bring it to pass.”
—Psalm 37:3-5
Personal Reflection:
As short and simple as this poem is, it actually means a lot to me. It’s easy to lose sight of God when life distracts us with high demands, problems, and expectations that pull us left and right…
You and I have the daily choice to try and chase what we think is important or remain in the One who is important.
When there are bills to pay, homework to complete, or the next big step to take in order to “make it” we cannot allow our hearts to be pulled away from God and His faithfulness.
Trust in the Lord.
Trust in the steps He is leading you in. Every worry, weight, and distraction that interrupts your peace and communion with the Holy Spirit—submit it to God. Be honest with the Lord about your struggles and the challenges you are facing. Surrender your desires: every want, need, and dream. As you seek the Lord, putting Him first above the problems and what you think are the solutions, He will abundantly take care of you. And you will find yourself delighting in the heart of the King of Kings like never before.
