Great post! I have been reflecting lately on the story of Abraham, and others in the Bible who waited a long time for God to answer prayer, or bring to pass what he had promised. A favorite is Daniel, who faithfully served a “foreign administration” for over 60 years! Or Caleb, who although he was one of the “faithful” spies, had to wait 40 years to get his inheritance—but was ready when the time came!
Thanks, Chuck! Yes, if there’s one thing I’ve learned from studying the Old Testament, it’s that God always fulfills his promises, but it often takes longer than we expect. But during the long years of waiting, he is transforming us—deepening our character and strengthening our faith.
Wow. The timing on that is shockingly good for me. Just a moments before reading this I just prayed about something that involves some waiting right now and I’m very thankful for this thought. It’s very moving and helpful.
Thank you for the invitation, Merissa! It was privilege to collaborate with you!

As far as marriage, my older son got married at 32, and my youngest son’s wife also at 32. Be patient…
